Fun project! I found an embroidered cotton ramie pillow from Goodwill, and made it into a pillow by cutting the front and the back into matching squares, with the front embroidery and the back embroidery centered on each piece. I embroidered 'Olivia' (name of the little girl who was getting it) on the front in variegated perle cotton. If I had had time (this was a quick gift) I would have made a liner for it, but I just sewed around it and left an opening for the stuffing. I crammed it with fiberfill and sewed it shut. It almost took more time to write this paragraph than it did to make the pillow.
Olivia loved it and proudly put it on her bed in her lavender room (which I did not know was lavender when I made the pillow).
