The Eternal Mademoiselle by Andrew Meyers, 1stdibs.com

Photographer Mark Shaw was a leading fashion photographer and worked for LIFE magazine throughout the 1950s and 1960s shooting candid photos backstage and on the runway at major couture shows. He photographed many celebrities and artists, including Coco Chanel.

His work has been in storage for decades, and his son, David Shaw, and daughter-in-law Juliet Cuming have archived the photos and created the Mark Shaw Photographic Archive.

The luxury antiques website, 1stdibs.com has posted a slideshow of Mark Shaw's Coco Chanel photographs. Coco is shown in many situations, including designing jewelry, conversation with models and actresses, and even a simple "walk in the park." 1stdibs.com features antique and vintage furniture, lighting, jewelry, watches and luxury fashion and haute couture.

1stDibs.com features "Introspectives" about creators from all over the world and I urge you to check it often for design inspiration.
